The reel of an ordinary push lawn mower can never turn faster than the wheel but in Fiskars that is possible and is actually what happends most of the time. The blades attached to the reel of this machine are rather heavy. The whole mower weighs 40 lbs or more and when the baldes are turning fast there is a lot of energy stored in the system.
